Excellent 3 in 1 jacket

Great multi-function jacket - beware of older variants though

I purchased 2x of these from the same supplier through amazon, one in green, one in black. Both size Large. I had tried them on in Debenhams but wasn't prepared to pay the extortionate RRP of £110 that Debenhams were pushing, so was happy with the price of the amazon marketplace retailer, even though there was a postage and packing charge.The jackets are waterproof, and go that little bit further than the more basic Craghoppers "Izo" 3-in-1 by having a better quality fleece, lining, zips, pockets and the detachable zip-in hood. They are slightly longer as well at 32" compared to the Izo's 30" length, which helps keep more of you dry.What did puzzle me though, was that the two that I received although initially looking the same (apart from one being in green and one in black), they were in fact, different. Cosmetically, there is an "aquadry" stitching logo in different places, but the more fundamental differences lie in the fleece. The green one's detachable fleece had a shiny sleeve lining which had popper loops at the ends of the sleeves so that they could attach to the cuffs of the outer jacket, this combination made it easier to put on and take off the jacket. The black jacket however seemed to have a different style of fleece inner which feels lower quality and has fleece sleeves with no popper loops or attachment in the cuffs of the outer jacket, so taking the jacket off when worn in full is a bit more of a faff as you have to try and keep the fleece sleeve together with the outer sleeve.I can only imagine that the black one I received must have been old stock from a previous generation of Kiwi 3-in-1. I haven't complained as we have just as much intention to use the outer on its own, and the fleece on its own. We can put up with the slight inconvenience of getting in and out of the full jacket, but it would have been nice to have had both in the newer more practical style.I would advise anyone looking at these jackets to check with the supplier to be sure of receiving what you are expecting.
