Good things about this coat: is warming, good length (to the knees on 5ft 4 person). Looks slimming from back. Nicely lined pockets.I had read previous reviews elsewhere with people not so keen on the hood - sits high. I wasn't sure what they meant, did it sit high when on the shoulders or when over the head? I can confirm it's over the head, it sits high up off your head and has a flat top (it looks quite unusual).I returned the coat because of this, the hood looked ridiculous on me. I also thought the coat looked better worn with zip opened rather than closed, the design around the stomach panels is supposed to slim but I feit it drew attention to that area.It came close to reaching my ideal down coat if it weren't for that hood and the arrow panels around the stomach area.If you're slim in the tum and don't mind a high hood then you won't go wrong with this jacket, it will keep you warm and is very well made.Hope this helps.

Before the first rain, I was going to rate this jacket with five stars: it was just perfect for the country where I live (it's not to cold here, around 2-5-7 degrees Celsius most of the time). However, after that rain, I was dreadfully cold because all the jacket got wet. I wasn't wet (this is a plus:)), but I was terribly cold because the feathers and the down from the inside got all wet). I just can not understand how can you make a jacket for winter weather and not waterproof it. I mean it's winter, what do you expect? Sun all day, without snow/rain? And it is not a regular jacket, it's Patagonia and it is not cheap. I don't want to lie, I made a three-week research for a jacket before I decided for this one. I read a lot of reviews, and of course, I read that the jacket is not waterproof. But I didn't expect to be that bad.On the plus side: I am tall and slim (172 cm and 52 kg) and I ordered an S size; it fits me perfectly. It is very lightweight, but it keeps me very warm. The length is just good (~20 cm above the knee) and the line is very flattering (very good idea with the V panels - they will make you look slimmer and look very original). In very cold weather, I am still able to wear a blouse, a cardigan and a fleece (I know, I know, I am very cold in winter) without looking like a sausage.I ordered the peat brown one and the colour is great too, very intense and nice brown.The pockets are zippered and padded with some soft and warm fabric, I love them.The hood is nice, it has to cords for a perfect fit around the head, but the truth is I seldom wear it. When the temperature drops below -5, I rely on a beanie and I found out the I can not wear the beanie with the hood because in this case the hood is too small.So, if you don't live in UK or Belgium:), this jacket is for you.
