The Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) is a protective clothing system developed in the 1980s by the United States Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center. This quality and sturdy ECWCS jacket is the perfect choice for all weather conditions. It features special 3-layer fabric system that is waterproof, windproof and breathable at the same time. Moreover it goes with warm removable fleece liner.
Presented parka features cobra style hood, a two-way, full-front zipper with double storm flap, Raglan sleeves, armpit ventilation zippers and adjustable Velcro wrist cuffs. Furthermore there are two cargo pockets on the lower front of a jacket. Fully removable fleece attaches to the jacket with a zipper, has a high collar, two zipped pockets and drawstring bottom, and can be used on its own if necessary. The jacket is a perfect choice for police, military and EMT as well as for fishing, hunting and a lot of other outdoor activities.

super warm and very practical

This jacket is so warm with or without the fleece fitted. pockets are very large and useful and the pocket on the arm is great for keeping a mobile phone. Hood will keep the elements out and if you fold it over around your neck it is high enough to keep the wind out of your neck and ears to keep body heat in. Two nice large poachers pockets tucked in the side which are accessible without having to undo the chest zip and let the heat out.Not much I would do to improve it other than perhaps make a longer version which would be long enough to reach the tops of your legs for extreme weather conditions but if you wear a good set of windproof trousers they will do the trick. I would rate this jacket much higher than many expensive designer mountain walking jackets available.

This is a good quality and thermally efficient product, needless to say of German manufacture.It does what it says on the tin. I outdoors in remote locations and it is waterproof with the zipped double seal creating a good barrier against the elements and works well in high winds and driving rain.Fit is generous and pockets are spacious and warming in the most adverse conditions. Rugged outer shell is good and despite a couple of hard knocks has remained snagg free.

Great jacket, could do with having elastic on the cuffs of the fleece and the around the bottom of the outer jacket. I just took the elastic from the internal snow band which seemed pointless and thread it through the base of the jacket, job done.
